“Historic and foodie”
Lots to see, places to eat drink and be merry, home of the State theatre. Hobart's answer to Lygon Street with many cultures represented.
We stayed in a house, Newdegate House, just off Elizabeth Street, the main shopping area of North Hobart. What a great location it is. Lots of good restaurants to choose from, some good shops including a retro op-shop, and a cinema (the oldest in Tasmania). Everything we needed was handy.
“The place to eat in Hobart....”
So many great choices of restaurant: in a hurry - Taste of Asia; special occasion - Mulan, or Vanidol's; eating out - Fish 349, or Annapurna. Take your pick: day or night! Hobart's best kept secret....eat, drink & be merry!
“Love the Bohemian theme”
Latte on the sidewalk & watch the passing parade. Arthouse Cinema & get variety of restaurant options.

There is a great ice cream shop in North Hobart and a few great little bookshops too! Try the Valhalla ice cream while you are here.
“The Place To Be”
We love to stay in North Hobart. It's a lively and vibrant place to be.
Its shops, restaurants and pubs are tops. Its main artery, Elizabeth Street, runs downhill to Hobart's CBD, and is lined with some very interesting shops.
But in North Hobart itself, this street is lined with a wide variety of restaurants with all the usual suspects ranging from the awful to the sublime.
The standouts include Fish, Anatolia and Anapurna. There is an excellent Italian owned fruit and veg
“North HObart is a place to visit for food”
Great choice of restaurants and take-away sare available in North Hobart. In addtion ensure to visit the domain.
“Great little suburb.”
Really liked this trendy little suburb it has a really good feel about the place.Freindly people and great places to eat and cool little shops.
Maybe we missed something, but we were not sure what the fuss was about. A few restaurants, nothing out of the ordinary and the italian one we chose to eat at was very ordinary

“It's lost it's appeal”
North Hobart used to be a great place to eat and have a drink. Unfortunately a lot of the good old regular restaurants have changed hands or their attitude in trying to become a bit like Salamanca (overpriced & snobby). Gone is the laid back cosmopolitan feel which is what used to make North Hobart special add to that the increased amount of undesirable people in area I would suggest trying somewhere else in Hobart.

“Cosmopolitan region of Tassie - in North Hobart.”
This part of Tassie - North Hobart, has a similar cosmopolitan and alternative lifestyle of Brunswick in Melbourne which I really appreciate and enjoy. The variety and diversity of restaurants, cafes, shops, even an independent cinema are unique to North Hobart in Tasmania.

“Hit and Miss”
We've tried many restaurants in North Hobart and some are fantastic and some are overpriced and ordinary. The wonderful Italian Piccolo is authentic Italian and well worth a visit but the strip is also lined with a number of ordinary fast food outlets and ordinary coffee shops. It is also very hard to park.

“Great Place to Eat and Shop!”
We found the most beautiful Japanese cafe with an excellent menu, great food and service and at a reasonable price!

Every other year I buy a membership because my child and her cousin love to go. When we heard that the Space Shuttle Enterprise was coming to town we were excited even though it never went to space. Long story short, you don't get to go inside the shuttle. There is very little interactive displays. My sister went to see the one in Washington DC, she
went inside and it was free.
The rest of the museum is as fantastic as ever. The family still enjoys it.
