“Best walk close to Hobart - Breathtaking”
The Hartz Mountain National Park drive takes about one and a half hours from Hobart. The turnoff is just past Geeveston. Note the last 8km is on an unsealed road. Follow the road untill the end where there is a sign in-book and toliet. Once finished if you still have some energy you can drive on and visit the Tahune Forest AirWalk. However if you are time limited I would do the Hartz Mountain walk.

The walk to the top of Hartz Mountain follows some boardwalks and rock climbing past some查看详情

“Breathtaking”
Amazing experience. During our stay we didn't have enough time to travel up North to Cradle Mountain, but we were assured by our friends that the Hartz Mountains were just as spectacular and more untouched. If they aren't just as spectacular then we have something to really look forward to on our next visit.
What a beautiful place. It was an amazing experience and an absolute must. We were tired from a couple of days of driving and had a adolescent son with us but not even he could avoid bei查看详情

“Stunningly beautiful”
If you have time for a day trip out of Hobart and enjoy a good challenging walk, this could be the destination for you. Hartz Mountains NP offers a variety of walks and some unbelievably beautiful vistas. Make sure you wear comfortable walking shoes and carry clothing for all conditions. Bring your camera as you will want to record the incredibly natural beauty of the place.查看详情

“This is brilliant”
Do yourself a favour and do this trip. The park is exactly what we thought Tasmania would be, huge trees, ferns, spectacular colours, pristine running water and so many photo opportunities. We were blown away by this park, just loved it and can't recommend the effort to do the trip more!查看详情

“Wilderness at its best”
Just what nature intended. Listen to the birds and look for those ever so still natives hiding behind the next bush. Just to get away from it all.查看详情

“Try to go every year”
It's lovely to take this gentle walk (except the last 3rd). If you can't make it up the hills, then enjoy Ladies Tarn and the other lakes surrounding. Just beautiful and washes the city out of your lungs. (Mobile coverage on top)查看详情

“Rugged ranges”
Hartz Mountains National is situated above Geeveston ,south of Hobart. Before you decide to do any of the walks it is advisable to check with the parks centre in Geeveston, as they can give you an update on the current weather conditions before you access the park. The road to Hartz mountain is pretty rough ,but can be reached by an ordinary 2 wheel drive car. You need to keep a lookout for timber trucks. There are beautiful walks to tarns, the mountain itself , waterfalls and a lake.On a clear da查看详情

“Beautiful views”
This is a gorgeous national park with some smaller walks for young people or those without much time, or you can climb Hartz peak in about 3 hours for some brilliant views over the surrounding mountains and lakes. Bad weather comes in quickly in this are and you can soon find yourself surrounded by fog up the mountain so bring the right gear and only attempt it in good weather.查看详情

“Rug up”
Its pristine, beautiful and COLD!!! Kinda eerie too if the weather moves in. In winter, take many warm and waterproof layers if you don't want to die from exposure.查看详情

“Window into the Southwest Wilderness”
One of the best little parks around. There are a number of lovely short little walks, but the main attraction is the journey to Hartz Peak, which yields wonderful vistas down towards D'Entrecasteaux Channel and across to the marvellous mountains of southwest Tasmania. You can easily see Federation Peak and a host of other iconic peaks. Best if you can visit in December to appreciate the wildflowers, but and still day in the summer will leave you well rewarded.查看详情

“Glaciers”
The drive will get dust on the car, but the scenery and walks are definitely worth it.查看详情

“Very big trees”
Tasmania has some great forests and the Hartz is amongst the best. It is quite accessible, has some great walks and you can even drive thru a tree ... Some are that big. In fact one of the worlds tallest hardwood trees was measured in this forest.查看详情

Every other year I buy a membership because my child and her cousin love to go. When we heard that the Space Shuttle Enterprise was coming to town we were excited even though it never went to space. Long story short, you don't get to go inside the shuttle. There is very little interactive displays. My sister went to see the one in Washington DC, she read more went inside and it was free.

The rest of the museum is as fantastic as ever. The family still enjoys it.
