“good beach walk in the middle of the city”
We had a nice boardwalk while we waited for our take-away pizza.
The beach was clean and well signed.查看详情

“Just a suburb”
From all the hype before I arrived, I was expecting Sandy Bay to be amazing, There's nothing wrong with it (the shopping area isn't especially attractive), but really it's just a suburb with nice views. Fine to live in, but not worth making a special visit if your a tourist.查看详情

“Interesting small shopping area”
Good spot for a walk and a little shopping, located between Battery Point, and the city. Take a 5 minute side street for the beachside harbour park and dog exercise area.查看详情

“Playground, cafes, beach”
Our family stumbled across this lovely area whilst driving around Hobart. There was a huge fenced playground, shelter with picnic tables, toilet facilities and grassed area. The beach runs all along the front with lovely views for a stroll to the nearby cafe strip. We were looking for lunch and ended up getting some delicious burgers from a small shop called Blue Strawberry. We walked back to the park and ate them while enjoying the beach views. We didn't explore what else is in the area, but if查看详情

“A suburb more than a tourist destination.....”
There's nothing special there really so not sure why you'd want to visit as a tourist..... it seems to have a reputation for nice cafes but I can't say I've ever found one that was anything special.查看详情

“Was expecting more”
Was told that this was "the place to be" on a Saturday night but was highly disappointed. Lacked life and atmosphere even at the Casino. No late night cafes or bars that we could see.查看详情

“Ok if you are blonde and drive a SUV”
As a Battery Point boy, the Bay has always made feel a little bit uncomfortable. For those who are upwardly socially mobile the Bay is the place to be. You have got to love those macmansions clinging to the side of Mount Nelson - looks like Costa del Sol on a cloudy day. The only redeeming feature these days is the street life around the main shopping strip. With its proximity to the University its very multi-culti. This has made the Asian food section of Coles and Woolies almost an exotic exper查看详情

“breezy beach ambience”
This is sort of like Chapel St crossed with the Gold Coast, it's kind of the Toorak of Hobart and so is a combination of that with a summery, breezy beachside feel, even though you can't even see the beach from Sandy Bay Rd. It's a world away from Hobart ambience-wise, and yet it's so close geographically, more modern and cheery than Hobart, which by contrast has its arcane, richly historic appearance and feel which is almost Bacchanalian in some respects, though Sandy Bay does have its uniquely查看详情

“A pleasant place to live”
This is one of Hobarts ritziest burbs and boasts the location of the University of Tasmania. The style of housing ranges from Georgian to Victorian with great style, but also some glam new additions. The overall mix can be quite pleasing, with great views over the Derwent, a quiet beach walk and plenty of cute bars, bistros, pubs and other distractions.查看详情

“Nice by the water”
Great location near the CBD and water, great for a walk. Can visit the casino and stroll near the water or enjoy a coffee over the water at the casino. Loved it.查看详情

Every other year I buy a membership because my child and her cousin love to go. When we heard that the Space Shuttle Enterprise was coming to town we were excited even though it never went to space. Long story short, you don't get to go inside the shuttle. There is very little interactive displays. My sister went to see the one in Washington DC, she read more went inside and it was free.

The rest of the museum is as fantastic as ever. The family still enjoys it.
