“Chiang Mai's Watery Artery”
If visiting as a tourist then would recomend The Riverside Resturant river cruise in the vening as the best way to see the best of the river. Living here - I have hiked along it, though it and over all its bridges but its riverbanks have not been developed in a very attractive way and it is difficult to walk along its banks - Chiang Rai's Kok River is much more attractive.

“Needs a clean up”
We went white water rafting and bamboo rafting in the Mae Ping river. The river was brown, dirty and smelly. During our bamboo raft ride, we were waist deep in water and our clothes were stained with mud and all sorts of debris. Really, this river needs to be cleaned up! And, not to mention we felt itchy all over after the bamboo ride.

“Relaxing few hours”
We spent an great relaxing afternoon on the Mae Ping river on a Scorpion Tailed river cruise. The river itself is used as a thoroughfare through the area and is lined with riverside homes and small farms, and in the city are, with many riverside restaurants and for this reason the river is definitely not a clean as it should be – we were there in the dry season so this could be one of the reasons and the water level was lower than during the wet season. A cruise on the river is definitely a good查看详情

“Quiet place”
We didn't go for a riverboat trip. Not sure if you even can. But sat down near the river at a few of the cafes. Nive views, but bars a bit overpriced.

“rafting down the river..”
We did one hour of bamboo rafting as part of a day trip, lots of fun and very relaxing; apart from when my friends tried to steer it! Enjoyable hour spent on the Mae Ping River.

“Some great restaurants along the side”
I am not so much speaking of a cruise down the rive, although that is without doubt worth the time, but also in the city of Chiang Mai itself, there are loads of really nice restaurants with live bands and such like along the rivers very edge. Great place to eat and take in some true local night out styles.

“The river of life of northern people.”
River ping is the main river that feeds people in the northern part of Thailand since it wasn't a part of Thailand Kingdom. However, river ping today is not beautiful like previous time.

“like another review says 'a good way to while away a couple of hours'”
We chose the Mae Ping river cruise for our last day of our trip to Chang Mai - we had walked around the Old City, been to an elephant farm and bamboo rafting; and a thai cookery course and all we wanted to do was sit down and float down the river with a nice cool breeze. The trip lasts about 2 hours - you go upriver or maybe downriver not sure but out of the city - you visit a thai farm (which also is a thai cookery school). We had a lovely refreshing snack of pineapple and water melon with a co查看详情

“A wonderful way to spend a few hours”
The ping river separates the western side of the city - including the old walled city - from the little visited eastern half. The highlight is undoubtedly when kratong and lanterns in their hundreds if not thousands are released by the river during the Yi Peng or Loy Kratong festival in November. However, a trip along the river is really worth while at any time of year. Boats can be picked up from the eastern bank, south of the foot bridge, though prices vary. All appear to be much the same - a 查看详情

Every other year I buy a membership because my child and her cousin love to go. When we heard that the Space Shuttle Enterprise was coming to town we were excited even though it never went to space. Long story short, you don't get to go inside the shuttle. There is very little interactive displays. My sister went to see the one in Washington DC, she read more went inside and it was free.

The rest of the museum is as fantastic as ever. The family still enjoys it.
