“Classic wood temple with a nice backyard”
We were there on Sunday of December 2. The wood temple is small and classic. Beside it there is a backyard, where candles were placed all over the place, some floating in water, some on the ground. The setting is very nice, with a statue of Buddha under a tree across the water. There was candle-lighting ceremony from 8-10 pm, but I am not sure if they do this every day or just because of Loi Krathong festival started few days ago.

“Small but Beautiful”
Wat Pan Tao is probably my favourite wat in Chiang Mai as it looks different from the rest. It is made out of teak and is simple-looking. I was there during Yi Peng, and the temple organised a Yi Peng event where the prayers were held before the Khoms were released to the skies. It was a beautiful time :)查看详情

“Nice wooden temple”
It is very nice wooden temple and quite different from other Lanna temples in Chiang Mai. We found it by accident when we went to Chedi Luang.

“Beautiful Wooden Lanna architecture”
There are more than 300+ wats (temples) in Chiang Mai city alone, but this small wat is a gem. On the same side of the road & adjacent to the much grander & massive Chedi Luang, this Wat is definitely worth a visit. The wat is largely made of wood (I understand, teak) & above the main door is a mosaic of a peacock standing over a dog. We understand that this represents the astrological year of the former royal resident's birth.Inside the wat, teak columns frame a large golden statue of Buddha.

“Kein UND Fein !”
Ein kurzer Besuch verbunden mit einem klein查看详情

“Amazing temple!”
Most people walk right past this temple on the way to Chedi Luang and never give proper attention to this one. It is a fine example of a Lanna style teak temple. It is so beautiful, it has to be seen to appreciated. My favorite temple in the old city. Don't skip it, you'll be happy you didn't!

“The representative of wooden wat”
While wats in Chiang Mai usually come in the form of concrete or wooden, I think Wat Phantao is an important representative of wooden wat. Take some time to appreciate its solid wooden structure and its fine wood craving, rebuilt in the 19th century. Its large viharn is a rare example of a former ho kham - a royal hall. At the back of the buddha at the main hall, there are some old pictures on the past events and banner hanging from the ceiling. Once part of Wat Chedi Luang (just next door), it'查看详情

Every other year I buy a membership because my child and her cousin love to go. When we heard that the Space Shuttle Enterprise was coming to town we were excited even though it never went to space. Long story short, you don't get to go inside the shuttle. There is very little interactive displays. My sister went to see the one in Washington DC, she read more went inside and it was free.

The rest of the museum is as fantastic as ever. The family still enjoys it.
