“Small. Has some key monet paintings, but don't feel you need to go out of your way for it.”
None of the staff spoke English. One selling tickets barely even speaks French. It's very small and underwhelming. There are some lovely Monet paintings, some of which are very famous. But if it's out of you way don't bother, unless you appreciate Monet, so for me it was ok, but just nothing compared to Louvre and D'Orsay.查看详情

“underwhelming.”
i kept thinking there was more. it seemed very small even with the large current rubens exposition in the basement. the information seemed lacking even with the audioguide. at most an hour trip start to finish.查看详情

“Monet and his friends”
The Musee Marmottan is a treasure ! One can see paintings by Berthe Morisot, Renoir, Pisarro and Sissly. The downstairs contains the Monet gallery replete with Water Lillies. There are paintings and sculptures upstairs. The seting for this museum is near the Ranglagh Gardens. What a way to spend an afternoon or morning. This is a MUST SEE !查看详情

“average museum”
Monet's collection is nice, but the museum is quite simple and a bit difficult to find after leaving the metro station.查看详情

“Visit with almost every trip to Paris”
This is one of our favorite small museums in Paris! In the 16th arrondissement so requires metro travel. When in Paris, we almost always visit Musee Marmottan for this is one of our favorite museums in the world! Small, intimate, and immensely charming. We stop in a cafe between the metro and the museum for a cafe cream, and then fortified we spend much time leisurely enjoying the Monets ... perhaps one of the best Monet collections. In November 2012 we enjoyed a special exhibition of Dutch and 查看详情

“A smaller museum in a high-end residential area”
This museum has the original Impressionist painting "Soleil Levant" Rick Steve's guide says you can visit the collection in an hour, but I think that you need two hours - minimum.查看详情

“Wonderful Museum Worth the Effort to Find!”
Musee Marmottan is located in a neighborhood near a beautiful park. Michel Monet bequeathed the family art collection to this small museum, & they had to excavate a large lower level in order to display the works. The painting that gave its name to the Impressionist Movement is here and is usually on display. No photos allowed & cameras must be checked.查看详情

“Lovely Small Museum”
It's been 20 years since we last visited this charming museum. Many Monets make up the main collection, but we were able to see the special exhibition of Henri Rouart's work, not often shown.查看详情

“Rouart show”
Fascinating man. Talented engineer, inventor and artist perfect setting. Look at a map before you go as there are no sins at the metro La Muette nor on the street. Are the neighbors keeping this gem for themselves?查看详情

“Breathtaking collection in a breathtaking building”
This is NOT an easy museum to find, but well worth the effort. Beautiful impressionist works in a gorgeous 19th century mansion in the far west reaches of Paris. Really a treat--both artistically and architecturally--and rarely if ever crowded--see, it really is hard to find!查看详情

“A lesser known gem”
This is a large, elegant suburban villa (with some modern additions) in the rather posh district of Auteuil (16th arrondissement) near the Bois de Boulogne, which houses a lovely collection of paintings, mainly 19th century impressionist, especially Monet. It doesn't have a cafe, but there are places to eat and drink in the area around the La Muette metro station, which is the nearest one to Marmottan. Just visiting the area is worthile in itself, as it shows you a charming, lesser-known aspect 查看详情

“Good Monet, but don't expect a massive collection”
After just coming from the Musee de l'Orangerie and Musee d'Orsay, I was really excited to see more Monet. However, there were not as many pieces as some websites would lead you to believe. The two rooms were lovely, but there was a large space in the basement with an exhibition on and I'd rather have seen their full Monet collection. If they were showing all Monet's work it would def be worth the visit. I also thought it was a shame that they did only had the names and artists of the paintings,查看详情

Every other year I buy a membership because my child and her cousin love to go. When we heard that the Space Shuttle Enterprise was coming to town we were excited even though it never went to space. Long story short, you don't get to go inside the shuttle. There is very little interactive displays. My sister went to see the one in Washington DC, she read more went inside and it was free.

The rest of the museum is as fantastic as ever. The family still enjoys it.
